Thank you all for your attendance at the class meetings that have been held so far. One of the points that has been raised at all meetings is the issue of parent helpers requiring DBS checks to go on trips.
As of now, all parents accompanying children on trips must have a valid DBS check. This allows the school to include the adult in the ratio of children to adults and means that we are fully covered in the unlikely event of any emergency or problem during the trip. Adults without a DBS can no longer be counted as part of the ratio and as such are not able to accompany the children.
If you would like to accompany your child’s class on trips but do not have a valid DBS, the school will be holding a workshop on Wednesday 25th September at 9am where there will be someone to assist you in the application process. The process is free of charge. We strongly encourage you to apply if you can, as without parent helpers many of our trips would not be able to take place.
Thank you for help in this matter!
